Hands-on Reproductive Health Training Center
This pilot project provided primary care clinicians with hands-on training to competency in IUD and contraceptive implant insertion and removal.
RHAP no longer provides hands-on training in LARC insertion and removal. If you are interested in training opportunities, look into the options below:
- Reach out directly to the manufacturers of the different IUDs for virtual and in-person training opportunities.
- RHAP may be able to facilitate a virtual, didactic-based training based on these two resources: Intro to LARC and Advanced LARC. Both of these are designed as lectures with case study discussions rather than hands-on training with models. Reach out to programs@reproductiveaccess.org if you are interested in more information.
- CTCSRH also provides a comprehensive virtual simulation training that may be of interest. And they may post about in-person opportunities at their conferences and meetings. https://ctcsrh.org/resources/larc-link/. Their calendar also has upcoming virtual training sessions.
- You may be able to bring Upstream to your health center to assist with a larger scope project for LARC training and implementation: https://upstream.org/training/.
- Beyond the Pill facilitates virtual, live trainings: https://beyondthepill.ucsf.edu/live-trainings
- Join the RHAP Network. Through the Network, you may be able to tap into a local clinician community of reproductive health care providers and advocates who may be able to help connect you to other training opportunities.
